• For an optimal installation of the BFSHIELD film without any visual distortion, the film application must be carried out by an installer who has followed the BODYFENCE and/or TEAR-OFF training provided by HEXIS S.A.S.
• When handling the film - excluding film application - always touch BFSHIELD with clean, dry hands.
• The film must be applied without thermoforming.
• Cut the film to the size of the part to be wrapped, allowing +10 cm (4 in.) of extra margin.

The remaining film must be stored on its original core (do not cut the rolls into several lengths or widths, do not repackage the product); the roll must be properly closed immediately after use (masking tape or roll-collars) in order to preserve all its qualities.

Advice: Carry out an application test under real-world conditions in order to adjust the proportion of HEXISOAP liquid to achieve optimum glide of the squeegee on the film.

• Only use the special tools dedicated to the application of vehicle window films (SHAGPAM or SHAGMITCH squeegees).
• Position the film performing the wet application method using the diluted HEXISOAP solution (7 to 8 pumps per litre of water for correct dosing).

Caution: BFSHIELD is fitted with a protective surface film, which must be removed by spraying it with the diluted HEXISOAP in the timeframe following the positioning of the adhesive-coated film on the windscreen and before it is permanently applied.

• Apply the film using the diluted HEXISOAP solution.

If, whilst applying the film, you notice a certain resistance on the film surface when using the squeegee, top up the sprayer with one additional pump of HEXISOAP solution per litre of water. This film application solution must then be sprayed onto the BFSHIELD film surface once more.

• The adhesion is nearly instantaneous: do not peel off the film once applied.

The film continues to conform to the glass after application, reaching its maximum transparency after a few days.

• The vehicle must be fitted with silicone windscreen wipers. These must be cleaned regularly and replaced at the first signs of wear.
• Use the wipers exclusively on wet windscreens.
• If there is frost on the surface of the film, use a de-icing liquid such as ‘AERO DE-ICER’ by HOLTS®. Do not use abrasive tools such as snow brushes, ice scrapers, etc. or sharp accessories (metallic blades of window scrapers) on the surface of the film, as this could cause serious damage.

Caution: Please enquire about the current legislation in the country of use of the said film prior to any modification of the vehicle’s glazing. HEXIS cannot be held liable for any non-compliance with the current legislation of the country of use.

• The film must be cleaned with soapy water or glass cleaner and a non-abrasive sponge. Clean the film as soon as possible if it is contaminated with substances such as bird droppings, traces of dirty liquids, insects, mud, dust, etc.
• Dry the film with a rubber squeegee in good condition or a clean microfibre cloth.

To extend the lifespan of BFSHIELD and regenerate the hydrophobic and self-healing properties of the film, HEXIS recommend that you regularly apply the product NANOSERUM by HEXIS to the surface of the film. The film may require a monthly treatment in the event of prolonged use of the windscreen wipers.

• Vertical exposure:
  up to 1 year (under normal road use conditions).

• Lifespan depends on the type and preparation of substrate, exposure conditions as well as nature and frequency of the cleaning.
